Terms of Service

Last updated: July 6, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Label Mate mobile application ("the app") developed by Joey Liechty ("we", "us"). By using the app, you agree to these Terms.

1. Description of Service

Label Mate is a music identification app that scans vinyl record labels, album covers, and barcodes, plays matching music, and prints physical labels for your records. The app uses on-device optical character recognition and image matching, cloud metadata services, Apple Music and YouTube for playback, and an optional connection to your Discogs account for collection browsing, pricing, and marketplace listings.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the app. By using the app, you represent that you meet this requirement.

3. Subscriptions and Payments

Free Tier

The app offers limited free functionality, including a daily scan budget and a daily label-print budget. A Pro subscription removes these limits. Budgets and feature gating may change between app versions.

Pro Subscription

Pro subscriptions are available on a monthly or annual basis. Subscriptions are processed and managed by Apple through the App Store. By subscribing, you also agree to Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement.

Price Changes

We may change subscription pricing at any time. Price changes take effect at the start of the next subscription period following the date of the price change. Your continued use after a price change constitutes acceptance of the new price.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

5. Intellectual Property

Our Content

The app, its code, design, and the catalog database are our property or licensed to us. The app is licensed to you, not sold.

Third-Party Content

Music metadata, pricing data, and album information are sourced from third parties including Discogs and are subject to their respective terms. Music playback is provided through Apple Music and is subject to Apple's terms.

Your Content

If you enable "Help improve the database," you grant us a perpetual, royalty-free license to use your anonymous contributions (barcode mappings, video and streaming matches, BPM/key data, and photos of record covers submitted in missed-match reports) to improve the service for all users.

6. Third-Party Services

The app integrates with third-party services. Your use of these services is subject to their terms:

Actions taken through your connected Discogs account (such as listing a record for sale or editing your collection) are performed at your direction and are your responsibility under the Discogs Terms.

We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or content of third-party services.

Affiliate Links

As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases. Printer and supply recommendations in the app link to Amazon using our affiliate tag. Products are sold by Amazon and its sellers, not by us; we make no warranty regarding recommended hardware, and purchases are subject to Amazon's terms.

7. Disclaimers

8. Limitation of Liability

Our total liability for any claim arising from or related to the app shall not exceed the amount you paid for the app in the 12 months preceding the claim.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect the most recent revision. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

10. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the app's cloud services if you violate these Terms. You may stop using the app at any time by deleting it from your device.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of the state in which we are located.
